Facebook online making money
Written By mounjidsoft on Jan 4, 2013 | 06:04
Facebook is a social online community that links everyone to
everyone.Do you think that everyone use it for fun or do you think some
guys and girls use it as a networking tool to sell stuff ? The obvious
reason would be both. These methods don't require you to buy anything or
pay someone to tell you the "secrets". As a matter of fact you can
start making money with your Facebook right now without having to spend
any money at all. There are no"secrets" for making money on Facebook.
Simply some very basic methods that people use to make money
elsewhere, but with a little work and patience you can apply the same
methods to make money on Facebook.
Steps
- 1Decide how much, and how quickly you want to make the money. There are literally thousands of ways of how to make money with Facebook. Some businesses have their own product lines and they simply utilize Facebook to expose these products to their friends and their friends. Some guys use Facebook to market other people's products. The latter is the way that most individuals do it, from home earning six figure plus incomes, in a period of months.2
- Consider using companies that provide you with specific products and websites to market. They also provide training and support on how to use Facebook to market your websites.
- 3Find a market. In this case the market would be Facebook friends. The more Facebook friends you have, the more chances you have of making more money. What if you don't have many Facebook friends? Fortunately it's very easy to create a massive market (friends for Facebook) simply by searching and inviting others to be your friend. But, if you want to take it to the next level and automate the finding and adding friends process, there are some software that can do just that.
- 4Show ads on Facebook. With all the Facebook applications that make it easy and a snap to start showing ads on your Facebook, there is no excuse for not taking advantage of this method, especially if you are popular amongst your Facebook friends, and have a big audience to show your ads to. Using AdSense, chitika and other PPC advertising companies you can easily setup your ads and customize it to your liking. Make sure to set it somehow that it serves ads related to product and services that you know your Facebook audience is interested in.
- 5Use affiliate marketing on Facebook. It's the same idea as showing ads, but in a more direct way. Register for free with affiliate networking sites such as ClickBank, Maxbounty, etc., and pick a product relevant to your Facebook audience interest to promote. You will be provided a simple code which is a link with your affiliate id embedded in it. Whenever someone clicks on that link and buys the product or service, you make money by getting a commission.
- 6Create an entirely new Facebook for that product and start promoting it there. You can sell multiple products and create multiple accounts for each one. Write short posts about the product and post it on your Facebook with your affiliate link in it. You can make a couple of hundred dollars a month doing this. I know it's not much, but for something that doesn't cost you a dime and takes about 30 minutes to set up, and takes about 20 minutes or so a day to run, I don't think it's a bad deal.
- 7Write a Facebook book How To. Facebook is attracting more and more members every day. And lets face it, not all of these people are Facebook savvy. And even though getting started with Facebook might be simple and quick for some, many people have problem with the basic things. Write a small and to the point e-book about Facebook and how to use it. Maybe a simple step by step instruction for getting started with Facebook. Or an e-book about how to use different application to make Facebook experience a better one. There are many possibilities. With the huge amount of Facebook apps and all the new ones that are added daily, this can be quite big. You don't even have to pay to promote your e-book, simply use your own Facebook or better yet create one for your e-book and start promoting it.
- 8Blog about Facebook. There are already some people doing it. But there is always room for new voices. Get a free blog over at blogger and use Google AdSense (which is already integrated in blogger, so even if you don't know how to show ads on your blog, you can set it up with couple clicks) to show ads on your blog and make money that way.
- 9Get sponsorship. When you have established yourself as an authority and a trusted person for anything related to Facebook, you can get some sponsor and maybe use affiliate networking sites to find and promote Facebook related product.
- 10Create and sell a Facebook application. If you are savvy enough and know your way around, why not use your skills to make a Facebook app of your own and sell it to Facebook users? Again, once you made it, you can use the same strategies mentioned above (blog or a Facebook page for the app) to promote your app.
- 11
There you have it, 5 ideas you can use to make money not only on Facebook, but you can also apply the same ideas to MySpace, Twitter and other social networking platforms to make money .

Written By mounjidsoft on Jan 2, 2013 | 12:23
Make money with Adsense without a website! It sounds impossible since to earn adsense revenue you have to place the adsense code on a web page. And if you don’t own a website, there is no way for you to alter its pages and add adsense code to it. Thankfully, there is a way to make money with adense without owning a website. It’s a method that almost anyone can use to earn adsense revenue with no website of their own.
Revenue sharing programs
Revenue sharing is basically a system where a you offer to publish your own content on another website. That websites displays Google adsense ads along side your content and the revenue earned from those ads are shared with you. Most revenue sharing sites share the revenue 50-50. Though some sites may even give you a higher percentage.
Of course, just like if you had adsense on your own website, to increase adsense revenue you will have to drive traffic to your content pages. The more traffic you drive to your content pages, the more clicks you may get on your ads and that means more money.
The good thing is that some of these revenue sharing sites are already popular and receive lots of traffic, so your content pages are already exposed to a huge number of visitors, whcih gives you a better chance of earning more revenue.
There are many different kinds of websites that offer revenue sharing, such as content revenue sharing sites, video revenue sharing sites, document revenue sharing sites and even revenue sharing social networks. Attracting Real Facebook Likes
Written By mounjidsoft on Dec 29, 2012 | 05:07
Attracting Real Facebook Likes
Social media marketing is really the wave of the future. When you put up a page on Facebook, you are doing more than just simply creating a profile for your business, brand, or cause. You are crafting an integral part of your overall Internet marketing strategy. And in creating your socila marketing strategy, certainly one of the main things that you hope to accomplish is seeing the benefits of your hard work and effort in reaching out and interacting with your followers or your customers.Facebook can offer individuals and business alike a whole host of advantages if utilized the right way. If you have a website and you want to get leads, Facebook is an amazing place for you to do so. If you have a blog and you want to get others to see it, one of the best ways to accomplish this is through Facebook. In fact, Facebook can help you to accomplish a variety of different tasks and goals, including:
- Engaging customers and followers,
- Driving new traffic to your relevant pages, and
- Building your business or personal reputation.
So, How Do You Get More Real Likes on Facebook?
How do you get there? How can you drive people to your Facebook page THEN encourage them to “like” it? These are the two questions that we will answer here.First, you have to consider how you are even going to get people to your Facebook page. This stage is all about promotion, and there are three primary ways that you can do this.
- The first and most obvious way to drive traffic to your Facebook page is to invite people that are already in your friend lists. These are likely personal and professional acquaintances who will already take an interest in your pursuits due to your existing relationship and these people will be much more likely to not only “like” your Facebook page, but also share it with others.
- The next way that you can get people to your Facebook page is to utilize Facebook ads. These ads run alongside the Facebook sidebar and can be made visible to a highly targeted audience based upon information that you provide during the setup phase. This is a pay service; however, you may be surprised to learn what kind of impact you can make with a very small Facebook advertising budget.
- The final way to get people to visit your Facebook page is to utilize links. Have a website? Provide a link to your Facebook page. Have a blog? Link your Facebook page to it. Sending emails? Make sure to provide a link to your Facebook page as part of your signature.
Organic Tips For Real Targeted Facebook Likes
One way that many page owners choose to engage their users is by posting relevant and interesting questions. Users want to interact with you; however, you have to give them something to interact with. You may consider posting questions like:- What do you like about our site? What don’t you like about our business?
- What do you think is the most fun about our industry or our service?
- Will you share one of your most rewarding experiences with our company or blog?
Finally, another unique way to get real Facebook users to “like” your page is to post surveys that are directly relevant to their interests and your business, brand, blog, or service. This is a great way to not only get users to interact with you, but to also gain vital information about what users would like to see more of.

GET REAL PINTEREST FOLLOWERS
Getting Pinterest Followers
Pinterest has taken the Internet by storm. Only a few short months ago, many people were wondering, “What is Pinterest?” Now those same people are asking, “How can I get more people to follow me on Pinterest?” Of course, to many, Pinterest is just a fun place to learn about new fashions, crafting projects, and to find inspiration. However, to many others it has become a new-found social media portal to utilize in their overall marketing strategy.Pinterest utilizes image bookmarking, and it is a tactic that has grown quickly in the marketing sphere, and become extremely important in the social media environment. Like Twitter and Facebook before them, Pinterest is launching a new social revolution that takes the idea of “followers” to the next level. When you have a lot of followers on Pinterest, it doesn’t just give you or your brand authority, but it also gives you exposure within an extremely active and dedicated community of people. As a smart, savvy marketing aficionado, you just may want to jump on the bandwagon and do everything you can to learn as much about how Pinterest can help you and your business or brand.
If gaining Pinterest followers is your primary goal, then there are several things that you can do in order to achieve it. We will start detailing these strategies by first looking at how you can utilizing existing social media strategies and translate them to your Pinterest strategy.
Utilize Your Knowledge of Twitter
As we stated before, Pinterest utilizes the “follower” system in their social community, much like Twitter and Instagram. If you have been utilizing Twitter as a social media strategy for your business or brand, then you may be well on your way to understanding your first Pinterest marketing strategies. There are actually two Twitter strategies that will prove vital to you in your work. The first will be hashtags. Hashtags are just as popular on Pinterest as they are on Twitter, and they will help users to easily find the content that you pin that is relevant to their interests. The second will be to use the “@mention” to discuss very popular Pinterest users and subjects. This will allow you to get into the buzz and explore new opportunities when it comes to finding followers.
Make Comments, ask questions and Start Discussions
In addition to these two Twitter-esque strategies, you will also want to be active and comment consistently on other pins. Just like any other social community, being active is key. It will show your followers and potential followers that not only are you interested in your subject, but you are keen to get them interested in it as well. Plus, when you are actively out commenting on other pins, you are exposing yourself to the greater community. You can start a discussion, and when you do this, you may pique the interest of other Pinterest members that you may have been unable to reach in other ways.Link All Your Social Media Accounts
What many social media marketers have realized is that getting more Pinterest followers often comes down to linking your various accounts to each other. Pinterest can be easily linked with your Facebook pages as well as your Twitter account. The really great thing about this strategy is that you are opening up yourself to many new opportunities and audiences for your Pinterest account. Plus, since a big portion of your Facebook and Twitter followers will be faithful friends, family, and acquaintances, they will be more apt to be interested in your Pinterest account and share your pins with others. Finally, Be Professional!! Don’t Spam!
If you’ve ever been the victim of consistent spamming campaigns, then you know what we’re talking about. Nobody likes getting spam, nobody likes reading spam, and nobody likes having to delete spam. If you’ve been utilizing any spamming tactics, then stop now! Your goal is to attract followers and give them something that they will show interest in at regular intervals. You don’t want to over-post; however, you want to post often enough to keep followers coming back. A good rule of thumb is to post at least once a day, but no more than five each day.

What to avoid in Logo Design
I come from a design background so can appreciate a well designed logo. In the internet marketing industry there is so much emphasis on sales copy & content, i believe much of the time design, aesthetics and style get completely ignored. My philosophy is if your going start a new business venture take the time to design or have designed a logo that you will be proud to put your name on.
Here is a guest post by Cormac with some great tips to make sure you your next idea or venture gets stamped with a pro designed Logo.
Logo Design Blunders
The power of the web and its vast reaching arms means the clarity of your message is more important now than ever. This is especially the case for logos. We’re all well aware of how easy it is to distinguish a company from its logo; however, we still see the same mistakes with logo design made again and again in digital forms of online media and paper methods such as brochures and cheap leaflet printing. So, what are the mistakes you need to watch out for when creating a new professional logo for your business?
Avoid Amateurs
Many businesses plough money into their company, the people who work for it and the property, but skimp on the logo. Try and ensure that you pay for a high quality professional graphic designer and avoid local printing companies, family, relatives or people with poor records and an unattractive portfolio.Your logo needs to be memorable, easy to reproduce and also professional looking – after all it may be the first thing potential clients will see.
Avoid Trends
Timeless logos are recommended. If you use all the latest gimmicks and design trends in five years your logo will have dated significantly. The best graphic designers will have an understanding of what is timeless and what is not. They may introduce some modern ideas to a classic style, though won’t turn your logo into some sort of 5 minute success – use the best to get the best.Avoid Bitmap
Reproduction is central to the success of a good image and bitmap or raster images as they are also known don’t provide this. Vector images are created via a mathematical formula that allows them to be consistently resized and so excellently replicated to any size. Bitmap images will end up pixelated if blown up and so are unusable for all larger requirements.Avoid Complexity
Another issue for logos comes in the shape of complexity. By creating intricate designs you end up having problems when you reproduce the image. If you want to have cheap leaflets printed or want to place it on a very small area, these details can be lost or worse again might end up looking like mistakes due to the low quality of some printing. They may also be easy to remember and recollect. All great logos are – think of McDonalds or Nike – simple and effective.Avoid Reliance on Colour
We all love colour but not all images come in colour format. If your logo relies on colour to reflect identity or if it looks different without colours, then you are in trouble. Add colours if you like but always ensure that the logo looks just as recognisable, exciting and attractive without them as it does with them – otherwise you’re in trouble.Follow these tips and you avoid most of the problems that create issues for logo design.

sixOf The Best WordPress Plugins For Affiliate Marketing
Making a success of an affiliate business
or a website that promotes affiliate products can prove a challenge

been designed to help make the process simpler. Check with the affiliate
network or affiliate programs that you are signed up with to determine
whether they have any beneficial plugins that you can add to your
website. If your website is built on the
WordPress platform then there are many different plugins that you can
use to help boost your affiliate performance.
The All In One SEO Pack is a very well known WordPress plugin and it has achieved fame because of its rich collection of features. WordPress is already well set up for search optimisation campaigns but if you want to further extend its functionality and accessibility in this respect then the All In One SEO Pack is essential.
You can fine tune navigational links, add title and descriptions, update canonical links, and automatically avoid duplicate content issues. Beginners can benefit from this powerful plugin because it will work straight out of the box by automatically creating meta tags and performing a number of other essential tasks without any user intervention necessary.
One of the problems with affiliate marketing is that the links can start to look messy with massive session IDs placed in the URL path. While this may not be a problem in a lot of cases, some users may be put off when they hover over the link. With the Pretty Link plugin you no longer have to worry about ugly looking links because it will not only shorten the URL but it will use your own domain name too.

ClickBank has long been an affiliate’s favourite. It provides non-tangible products such as software, digital download ebooks, and more in a huge variety of categories. Selling these products is not only quick and simple but the commission on some of these products can be extremely high. At the very least, ebooks can provide an additional product stream for your affiliate marketing site.
ClickBank Press is a WordPress plugin that enables you to add a full marketplace to your website using the XML site feeds from ClickBank. You can customise products to display according to your chosen niche and you can even add custom products from other affiliate networks too. You can even create your own titles and descriptions for the ClickBank products that you display.
Easy Affiliate is described as being an auto-affiliate plugin. You simply install the plugin and it then converts your links automatically to affiliate links through the 3,000 or more companies on offer. new way;The Secret Formula to Increasing Your Conversion Rate
Everyone knows that the conversion rate is one of the most important factors of your site (or blog) because traffic and conversion mean money. There’s a lot to be said about traffic and conversion. Both of them are incredibly important. In this article, we’re going to discuss how to actually increase your conversion rate. I’m going to give you a secret formula (one that I’ve been using for a long time) which has helped me dramatically increase my conversion rate and make a lot of money.
First of all, let’s talk a little bit about the conversion rate. I’m sure most of you already know what it is, but I want to start from the beginning. The conversion rate of your website is the number of desired actions divided by the number of site visits. For sales, it will be the number of sales divided by the number of site visits, and for leads, it will be the number of leads divided by the number of site visits. A higher conversion rate means more money for you, and that’s why everyone wants a higher rate of conversion.
What are the factors that most prominently affect your conversion rate?
- Your site’s design- Your site’s content
- The type of traffic on your site
A few words about the traffic
If your traffic is from related sites, your conversion rate will be more targeted. If your traffic is from search engines, your conversion rate will be different for different search terms. Here’s a tip: your conversion rate will be better if you use highly targeted “long tail” keywords instead of main keywords. For example, you will have better conversion if you rank for “how to make money online,” instead of just “money”.It’s obvious why.Conversion Rate
Now let’s talk about the content of your site. I’m going to explain how to create content that will make visitors want to buy more from you.You need to write high quality content! You’ve probably have heard that many times, but what exactly makes content “high quality”? Almost no one will explain exactly what to write. So here is my secret. I’ve been testing this for a long time, and it works perfectly. If you use it, you will increase your conversion rate by numbers that you would never expect, believe me. Just carefully read the information below.
The Secret Formula
What is my secret formula to increase conversion rate?- Find a problem in your niche.
- Find quality product in your niche to present a solution.
- Make your users think that you are one of them.
- Mention your product. DON’T try to sell it; just mention it. Don’t offer scams.
Finding the problem
Now let me explain to you what I mean by that. I will give you an example with one of my latest blogs: http://mypaidsurveysblog.blogspot.com. It is a blog where I promote online surveys, which are a way for people to make money by giving their opinion. I make money if someone registers through my links. I applied my secret technique on my blog, and I saw unbelievable results. I now make more than 30 registrations from only 100 visits! It’s not because of my design (I use the default blog template), and it’s not because of my traffic type (there are a lot of sites that rank for the same keywords, but they don’t make the same amount of leads and sales, believe me). It is because of my content.
Here is how I have applied the techniques that I’ve mentioned above. The first task is to find a problem, BUT you must not use specific problems. The trick is to explain more common problems. By doing that, you will find more people who are interested in your content. You can read forums and blogs to find some common problems in your niche. Here are the main problems for paid surveys that I’ve found: most surveys are scams and most of them involve paid registration.
Scams – it is obvious. What do you think if you see sites that make claims such as “make $100 per hour by sharing your opinion”? Most people ignore these sites – not because they don’t want to make $100 per hour, but because the site looks like a scam.
Paid registration – I’ve found that most of these sites ask people for “only $39″ to register. This is a problem too. No one wants to pay for registration.
Here’s another example. Let’s say you have a site about weight loss. What is one of the most common problems for people who want to lose weight? I’m not an expert in that niche, but I think that side effects will be a big problem.
You can find problems in every niche.Just research and think carefully.
The Solution
The next step is finding a solution to the problem you’ve chosen. Let’s go back to my example, the surveys. The problem with paid registration is easy. All you need to do is find surveys that have free registration and of course mention that you offer only free online surveys. Not looking like a scam is harder, but it isn’t impossible. It’s not easy to change peoples’ opinions, and yet I’ve done just that by creating a post titled “How to find legitimate paid surveys online”. In that post, I explained, step-by-step, how people can find legitimate survey companies. The most important thing is that I haven’t tried to scam anyone. I’ve just tried to help them find legitimate companies. Here are several things that I mentioned: “Only join free surveys,” “never give your credit card information,” “carefully read terms of use,” “read other peoples’ comments,” and so on. It is obvious that these are helpful tips and people will trust them. Now do you see the solution? Once I offer a solution, people start to trust me. They feel that I’m “on their side” and I’m “one of them”. You cannot achieve that reaction by saying “Hello, I’m one of you,” or “Hello, I’m on your side.” Many bloggers say that sort of thing, but it doesn’t work very well. The Product
The last step to discuss is the product you’re offering. You need to research and find the best product for your visitors. Once again, don’t offer scams.
How should you offer your product? Don’t use traditional “call to action” phrases like “Buy now,” and “Get it now.” Just MENTION your product. Tell them that you’ve been using it, and then tell them why they have to get this product. Be sure to explain the benefits of the product and why it is better than similar products of its kind. This is the best way to increase your numbers of sales. If it is too obvious that you’re trying to sell something to someone, they won’t buy it. Just suggest it to them. That is all.
Bonus tips
(For sales) NEVER try to sell more than one thing. Many people think that if they list more products, visitors will buy more. In practice, that won’t happen.(For Leads) Actually, if you offer leads, you can offer more products. For example, let’s get back to my blog about paid surveys. I listed more than one survey site, but I also explained to my visitors why they have to register with several sites. Here are the reasons I mentioned:
- Legitimate survey sites have a limited numbers of surveys per day.
- By joining more sites, people can find the highest paying offers of the day.
- Registration is free, so people lose nothing. I redirect only to free surveys.
They register because they see actual reason why they have to register to more offers. They trust me and I make more money from my blog.
Bonus effects
If you write quality content and offer quality products, your site will rank better. Google will see that, believe me. For people who are not familiar with SEO, it’s amazing how Google knows all of these things. Of course, Google can’t actually read and understand text; however, there are factors that Google uses to determine site rank. Here is a summary of what will happen if visitors like your content:- They will stay on your site longer
- They will post more comments on your site
- They will click your site’s “Like” buttons more (At Google Plus, Twitter, Facebook and so on)
- They will link to your site more
All of these are factors in the Google Algorithm. Google will see these signals and move your site to better positions.
Now you know one of the best ways to increase your conversion rate. Try it, and I’m sure you won’t regret.

How to get paid with online surveys
You want to make money online? You can get paid with online surveys!?
Online surveys are used as a technique for gathering information for companies. They generally are a set of questions which require a participant to answer and then the information is eventually given back to company for reporting purposes. The companies are willing to pay a fee to the participant for their opinions and time.
Companies spend Billions of dollars a year trying to convince consumers that their products are the best and to buy their products and services. They achieve this by getting an understanding how people think and shop. Knowing this, companies are willing to pay you for your opinions. Overall your opinion could help the companies to upgrade their products and services.
But there is a lot of scams out there. I will present you one page. Is it a scam too?

Make Money Locally—and Globally—Through Your Blog
Written By mounjidsoft on Mar 27, 2012 | 07:18
We started Firepole Marketing less than a year ago, and we’ve done pretty well with it over that time. A lot of people know who we are, and what we do.
I’ve even been dubbed the Freddy Krueger of Blogging.
And while we’re not at the scale of a major site like Copyblogger, we still do pretty well, to the point that we make a decent amount of money online, and occasionally even help others to do the same.
We aren’t the only ones to have done that, and I remember that a year ago, when I saw others make the same sort of claim, I always wanted more information. I wanted to know how much money they were really making, and where that money was coming from. All right then, I’ll tell you…
I’ve been an entrepreneur for longer than my adult life. I quit school when I was 15 to start my first business, and I’ve been doing it ever since.
For the last several years, in parallel with my various entrepreneurial ventures (some of which were successful, and some of which were less so), my regular income was earned by consulting for small businesses, usually in the zero-to-ten employee range. Sometimes I would get involved in an advisory capacity, and sometimes they would bring me in for something very specific (i.e. they need a new website)—either way, I would end up helping them make more money by tuning up their marketing and business strategy.
My partner Peter is a marketing and business coach, with similar expertise. We connected on the networking circuit, and while comparing notes over coffee, we agreed that while there were lots of businesses in our target market that were doing well enough to afford our services, there were also a lot of businesses that really needed help, but hardly had any money. We both gave away a lot of free coaching and advice, but that could only go so far.
So we decided to create our training program—that was the birth of Firepole Marketing.
That was more than two years ago. Fast-forward to last year, and the program was done—now we needed to get the word out about it, and that’s when we turned to blogging.
Obviously, my income started out completely offline. I had grown my consultancy to a six-figure business before we ever launched Firepole Marketing.
I think that’s pretty normal—very few people start their careers online, so it makes sense that you would start your transition into the online world still making money from offline opportunities.
Then we launched our product and blog, and half-expected the sales to start rolling in…
It flopped miserably.
We didn’t make any money at all from that launch, and in hindsight, it wasn’t hard to see why.
Nobody knew who we were, and our audience was very small (less than a hundred people on our list).
So who were we launching our product to?
Nobody—that’s right!
It was after that false start that we realized we need to focus on building an engaged audience first, and then worrying about product sales later.
So that’s what we did. I wrote lots of guest posts, landed interviews with major figures like Guy Kawasaki, participated in online conversations, and did everything that I could think of to:
And we figured that as the traffic numbers increased, we’d start seeing more people buy our training program. But we were wrong…
That was fine, though, because it turned out that there were a much more lucrative income opportunities that literally found us.
Those opportunities were offline opportunities … sort of.
It turned out that a whole bunch of people in our networks—some of whom we hadn’t spoken to in years—were reading our blog, and following our growth online. They were impressed, and started contacting us out of the blue, to engage our coaching and consulting services.
Once we noticed the trend, we put out a few feelers to our list (which had a couple hundred people on it by this point), asking if anyone was interested in working with us on a one-on-one basis.
More than a few people said yes, and working with us on a one-on-one basis isn’t cheap!
In other words, before we even started making product sales, we had generated something like $10,000 in extra revenues from new clients that found us through the blog.
But it didn’t stop there.
It was just a trickle at first—after all, this is a $900 training program, not a $17 e-book!
But people were buying, culminating in a big chunk of publicity that we got at the end of August, when we took the program off the market.
All in all, we’ve probably made another $10,000 or so from product sales, and we expect that number to grow dramatically each time we open the program to new students, which will probably happen once or twice per year (that way, we can focus on building our audience in between).
And in between launches, we get new coaching and consulting clients, which will realistically continue to make up the majority of the income that we earn online—at least for the next year or so.
The answer is that no, you probably can’t.
I could tell you what’s worked for us—but that probably won’t be very helpful, because we’re different people with different strengths, we’ve had different experiences, and we’re in different circumstances.
What you really need is some hard data about what seems to be working, across the board.
Everybody talks about making some money locally and some money online, but there’s no hard data about what results large numbers of people are seeing, and how long it’s taking them to get there.
We wanted to change all that, so we created the Semi-Local Business Survey.
The survey will ask you how much of your income is generated locally, how much is generated remotely, and how you came to be where you are today.
Your answers are completely anonymous, and will be added to the answers of many others, so that we can see what the real trends in the industry are.
There’s no offer here, and nothing for sale—we just want to gather the data and share it with the community.

Disappointments and False Starts
Almost immediately after launching the blog, we announced it to our (small) lists, and did a small product launch. This was in the very beginning of 2010.It flopped miserably.

- get my name out in front of as many targeted people as I could
- consistently offer as much value as I could, so that if people remembered me, they would remember me in a positive light.
And we figured that as the traffic numbers increased, we’d start seeing more people buy our training program. But we were wrong…
Next: Online Feeding Offline
We did start seeing product sales, but not as many as had hoped, and not as soon as we would have liked.

Even though the contest was a tremendous success (as you can tell by the number of comments we received), we have decided to change it up in a BIG WAY. We thought long and hard about it and we just don’t want to force people to have to leave a bunch of comments to win a contest.
We are still going to run a Comment Contest, but instead of the winners being the two people who leave the most comments, we are going to have a raffle at the end of each month and pull 2 names out of a hat. The prizes have not changed… we will be giving away one month of free 125×125 banners ad space to 2 winners in our sidebar in the designated area.
*RULES: The rules are very simple. On the last day of each month we will pull 2 names out of a hat and the winners will each win 1 FREE month of banner space in our designated area. We reserve the right to refuse anyone and any banners that we do not feel are appropriate for this site. To qualify to get your name in the drawing all you have to do is submit at least 5 comments throughout the entire month and we only count one comment per post. So you will need to comment at least once on 5 different posts to qualify. For a comment to count, it does not have to be long, but it does have to be useful to us and/or our readers. Just writing, “Great Post! Keep up the good work” will not count as a comment towards winning the contest. We need to know that you actually read the post. Mark and I will have the final say on what we feel is a comment.
If you have any questions, please let us know. Also, you do not need to limit your comments to 5 throughout the month. We just want to give more people an opportunity to win, so we are making it easier for everyone to qualify.
Again, congratulations to last month’s two winners, Sire from WassUpBlog.com, and Lee from MyBlog2Day.com.

The 11 Best WordPress Plugins for SEO
When it comes to SEO, WordPress has you covered.
Tons of different plugins exist that can help your blog have killer SEO—but which WordPress SEO plugins actually do the job and help your site rise in the rankings? Read right along to discover the top SEO plugins to use on your WordPress site.
All In One SEO Pack
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the All In One SEO Pack plugin will actually handle ALL of your SEO needs, but it does thoroughly cover the basics of how you title your site’s pages and posts for maximum SEO impact. The All In One SEO Pack lets you set global settings for your site’s page and post titles, and it also provides easy access so you can customize individual pages and posts on the fly.
Platinum SEO
Platinum SEO is another comprehensive SEO plugin. Like the All In One SEO pack, it allows you to optimize the information that appears on your blog, and it also allows you to customize how and where to apply the SEO data to your site’s assorted posts and pages. Unless you’re a high-level WordPress SEO jedi, you will do well with either the All In One SEO pack or the Platinum SEO plugin.
Headspace2
Headspace2 is another very powerful SEO plugin. With Headspace2, you can customize the titles and metadata of all of your site’s pages. Headspace2 gives you extremely tight control over every aspect of optimizing your on-page SEO configurations. In addition to the global settings panel, you also have a Headspace2 panel in every single page and post that you create. Using this panel, you can customize any individual page to optimize it exactly as you like. A highly recommended option for WordPress SEO.
SEO Friendly Images
This plugin allows you to apply global settings to all the images that you include in your WordPress site. The control panel allows you to specify the title and alt attributes of any image that appears on your site. A simple, effective and important plugin.
Google XML Sitemaps
Sitemaps bolster your SEO by telling search engines about the pages on your site that exist. When a search engine spider enters your site, the sitemap orients the spider and enables the spider to crawl your site efficiently and completely. While this doesn’t guarantee that your site will rise in the rankings, it is a great thing to enable to facilitate your site’s mapping in the search engines.
Simple Tags
This plugin gives you granular control over everything related to optimizing your content’s tags. There are a lot of nice options within this plugin, including the ability to include Related Posts at the end of each of your posts.
Redirection
The Redirection plugin helps you manage 301 redirections when you change the URL of a given piece of content. It also helps you keep track of 404 errors and generally protects you from missing any odds and ends that restructuring or site migration might cause.
WP Super-Cache
Speed of page loading is a major factor in your site’s search engine rankings. This plugin creates static HTML files that, once generated, will be loaded by the visitor’s browser instead of the more resource-intensive php files that run the dynamic content on any WordPress site. A speedier site makes both for a faster experience for your visitors and a better ranking in the eyes of the search engines.
Date Exclusion SEO
It’s possible that visitors to your site may be turned off by older dates appearing on your site’s content. This plugin disables the dates that would otherwise appear on your posts and pages, and your site’s content feels fresher and more evergreen as a result.
SEO Smart Links
This plugin automatically links between posts using in-common keywords and phrases. This helps your content become interlinked more easily.
WP PageNavi
This plugin organizes all the pages within any given category or section of your site. Visitors and search engine spiders alike can quickly navigate through all the pages of any section. This is another detail that will make your site easier and faster to navigate, which will help its SEO.

Simple Fixes that Could Increase Comments on Your Blog
Lately I have been doing lots of “Blog Surfing” to not only see what people are writing about, but also to comment on blogs to get our name (Making Money Online Dot Com) out there. Now I am definitely not one of those people that just say something like, “Great Post! Keep up the good work!” I like to read each post and if I have something I think I can contribute… I try and leave a useful comment. Sometimes they are quite lengthy and sometimes they could be fairly short, but I always try to add to the conversation.
While visiting all these blogs lately there are a couple of things that I have come across that has kept me from leaving comments on posts where I usually would. Here are the 2 things that keep me from sometimes leaving comments:
1) Comment boxes that don’t auto-fill. This one probably bugs me most of all. The first time you go to a blog and leave a comment you usually have to leave at least your name and email address. Most sites also let you add your web address and many nowadays let you add additional information like your Twitter ID and more. Most sites require that your first comment be manually approved by the blog owner before it appears to the public, which totally makes sense. Another thing that is common in most blogs is once you leave your first comment… your information is stored on that site so when you go to write another comment you don’t have to fill out your personal information again. There are some sites that I have found where each time you leave a post you have to fill in that information again. I absolutely hate having to do that each time I comment on the same site and I am sure there are many others that feel the same way. So if your site does not have that “Auto Fill” feature I think you should fix it!
2) Captcha in the comments section. This one really bugs as well. I understand that nobody wants to get a bunch of spam posts on their site (me especially), but that is what the plugin Akismet (which comes with every WP blog) is for… right? It catches almost all the spam comments we get on our sites. It’s true, we have to check the spam folder each week to make sure it didn’t grab some legitimate comments, but for the most part it works great. I hate it when I leave a comment on a blog and then I come across one of those Captcha codes that are really hard to read. Then I have to refresh it until I can read it clearly or it takes me several attempts until I type it in right. It makes me want to just leave the site and abandon my comment. Now I can definitely understand having Captcha on your contact form, as you really don’t expect too many contact emails each day. But having it in your blog comment section is really not needed in my opinion. Why even risk lose visitors to your site?
Of course these are just my personal feelings. Maybe I am the only person this bugs. All I know is having those 2 things on your site might be costing you some comments from me.
How you guys? What do you think about my opinions… do you agree? Please leave your comments below.
